Frequently asked questions
Home / Frequently asked questions
Do you make barometers?
Yes. We make barometers by hand to order, made to read true and to last.
How do we get started?
Ask us to look at your barometer or visit the workshop. We assess it, advise and give you a clear price before any work.
Can you restore the case?
Yes. We repair and make good cases, veneers and dials, finished to suit the barometer.
Can you set it to read correctly?
Yes. We set and calibrate each barometer to read true to the height where it hangs.
What does the work cost?
It depends on the barometer and the work involved. Tell us what you have in mind and we will give you a clear price.
Can you repair the movement?
Usually, yes. Tired movements and readings can be put right so a barometer reads true again. Show us the barometer and we will advise.
Do you restore barometers?
Yes. We restore stick, banjo and aneroid barometers by hand, movement and case. Tell us about the barometer and we will advise and prepare a quote.
